IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SELLING YOUR FIREARM:

I have three "purchasing packages". First, I will pay $300.00 for any Springfield trapdoor rifle, cadet rifle or carbine that is in NRA (antique rating scale) good condition with no excessive rust and with original stock and nearly complete metal components. These are parts guns. This does not mean that the gun will be destroyed for parts. Rather, these guns are used to swap out parts with other guns. I will buy these guns 100% of the time for $300.00 "sight unseen" and take my chances.

Secondly, I may pay $500.00 to $1000.00 for a trapdoor rifle in NRA very good condition. Most trapdoor's fall into this category as they were used by the military over a hundred years ago. I may or may not buy these guns depending upon whether I need them for my collection.

Thirdly, there are a few very truly fine or rare guns around that would be welcome additions to my collection and these command prices between $1000 and $30,000.

If you are interested in selling, please contact me and we will try to assess the condition and degree of originality of your rifle. Most often, available guns are a mismatch of parts from different models. Finding the proper parts to restore a fine rifle can often cost more than I paid for the rifle itself. It is therefore very important to determine the gun's pedigree. I will usually email you and ask a series of ten to twenty questions to get an idea of what you have. Or, I will ask for some digital photos.

Once again, I am a private collector of these fine old guns. I am not a dealer. I do have a collector's C&R Federal Firearms License, so transfer via UPS is not a problem and conforms to all Federal Firearms Laws.
